I’m a music lover. When I say music lover, I mean I love independent artists and commercial artists, but we have to celebrate independent artists. And when you’re someone like me, I know who’s hot and who’s not. This one is OVAH.

This music is the vibe. It’s grown and sexy. If you want to have a party everyone will remember, people put so much effort into the food and the lighting, but a party is sealed and remembered for decades because of the music. I’m a man of a certain age, and when it comes to music, I like grown and sexy. I know I repeated that, but it’s true.

Oh my God, this music is perfect. It’s loungy, but it has rhythm. It has sounds from all the genres. You hear a little guitar on some edges. I could hear elements of Afrobeats, which is one of my favorites, and Mediterranean, with a little bit of Caribbean and Latin. It’s what my best friend calls global. A melting pot of sound. It has all kinds of layers. And his voice. I don’t want to say it, but his voice got me wanting to do the do. (Although the voice is AI generated, it’s impeccable. I almost thought it was real until I read an article about him while doing my research.)

Who Is aKa Sci Music?

His name is Sylejman Makasci, and I can’t pronounce it. He records as aKa Sci Music, an independent project from Germany. In about two months his catalog is close to 100,000 streams. He has listeners in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. He has radio airplay in multiple countries. No major label.

I’m so happy he reached out to my team, because my team and I love music, and we love finding new artists. He stumbled upon us, sent us an email, and now he’s part of the launch of my magazine. This is what I want my magazine to represent, artists like him.

Half Awake

When I want to write about music, I sit peacefully with it, with a glass of wine or a little cocktail, and I just listen. I try to listen to the words, the lyrics, the beats, the rhythm, how it’s layered. When it comes to my favorite songs, “Half Awake” is one of them. I don’t know. It just hit home for me. “Half Awake” really took me to a place of peace. Sunday morning came and I had to play it again. I had it on repeat.

Then I got off “Half Awake,” and the next one up was “Sunday Feeling.” I have to be honest with you. I was prepping for a party at my home. The New York City Marathon runs straight in front of my house, and I was getting ready with my cup of coffee, iced coffee actually, when I started listening. I was like, oh my gosh, the name of this song is perfect. It was Sunday morning, and it put me in such a happy-go-lucky mood. The melody, the sound, everything about it made me say, okay, who is this person? His sound is really great. I am very impressed by him.

Long Way Home and Wish You Were Here

A few more of my favorites are “Long Way Home” and “Wish You Were Here.” “Wish You Were Here” made me think of all my past loves, and even those no longer here in my life who meant so much to me. It just got me in such a mood, but not a sad mood. I was so uplifted by his sound.

If you’re looking for new music, this is the guy to download. His links are below. Let’s celebrate him, because when it comes to music, he knows what he’s doing.
