Drug addiction can be hard to understand. It’s also difficult to explain. Addiction in general is complex and describing what addiction looks like is hard to do. If you’ve never dealt with an addiction or had a loved one struggle with addiction you probably would have a hard time understanding what someone is going through or experiencing. Visualizing what addiction looks like seems virtually impossible.
Andreas Hykade created a short animation to show the world what addiction is like. Addiction is a complex problem and this animation helps visualize how addiction starts, how it continues, and how it creates a dark cloud in a person’s life.
The high rate of addiction within the gay community is alarming. It’s something we barely address, but it’s no secret. We don’t hear about crystal meth as much as we used to but the problem still exists.
Without saying too much, the short clip demonstrates when someone chases that feel good high and how the feeling changes over time, a change that affects your everyday. As you watch the video, please keep in mind, addiction applies to more than drugs. Anything addictive like caffeine, gambling, or an addiction to making money are all forms of addiction.
