Maluca is back with a dope new track, MALA; a track that stays true to her heritage and brand; delivering “tropical punk,” “Dominican Rave” music that makes you want to get up and dance. Her latest track is a fuse of electro beats with a tropical flair. If you’re not familiar with Maluca she is the protege of Diplo.
Maluca, grew up in Washington Heights, Manhattan. “Although a bad case of stage fright kept her out of the spotlight for much of her life, a chance meeting with Diplo while performing karaoke eventually led to “El Tigeraso,” Maluca’s first single. The name Maluca in Spanish is a derivative of Mala which means bad or mean girl. In Portuguese Maluca means a crazy or mischievous girl.’ (Wikipedia)
Indie artists often have limited budgets to produce high quality videos. We’re not sure what the case is here, but “MALA” is hella sexy and high quality. Her beauty is memorizing and her body is sickening. Although there’s not much to the video I love watching it. “Directed by Shahana Khan, we see Maluca emerge from a haze of smoke in what looks like the comfiest, hyper-futuristic massage chair in the world. It looks like things get a little steamy, too, as Maluca explains ‘massage chairs are the new ‘THRONES’ and 2016 is all about self care.’” (I-D)
I am obsessed with her new track, MALA. Another track I am obsessed with is her Soundcloud track Lola (Ging Danga). If you like them you can also download it for free.
