Have you ever visited an Acupuncturist to treat any ailments you have?  Well, I have been using an Acupuncturist, Dr Wren for over 10 years, who works out of my Chiropractor’s office in Wall Street.  In the past while working out at the gym and over using the treadmill, I ended up with knee problems. Also, at work, I stand for long hours on a hard pavement sometimes for over 8 hours.  I eventually went to an Orthopedic doctor who advised me to stay off the treadmill and use it less frequent.  It was good of him not to recommend any prescription drugs for my problem, because I probably  would not fill the prescription .

I practice a Holistic approach to my health and well-being.  I believe that doctors sometimes only support pharmaceutical  drug companies.  I decided to take advantage of Dr Wren’s service at my Chiropractor’s office.  I eventually became addicted to acupuncture after several treatments for my knee problem, my pain eventually was gone.  I have used Dr Wren’s service for treating other ailments, cold, and bronchitis, and also to lower fat in my stomach, my version of a tummy tuck. Of course, that was a vain treatment, but no one wants to have a stomach bulge  in a bathing suit or a form fitting dress.

Acupuncture has been practiced in China over thousand of years ago.  his practice is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is very different from Western medicine that we practice in our society. Now, some western doctors are making it a part of their practice today, and  I compliment them.  The saying,”don’t knock it until you try it,” certainly holds true to this practice. Some of you who are not familiar might be asking, what is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is based on the theory that energy, called Chi (CHEE) flows through your body along pathways called Meridians.  The acupuncturist believes that when we get sick, it blocks or unbalanced our  CHI. To help cure this, the acupuncturist help to heal our bodies by putting thin needles into our skin at certain points of our bodies.  This method is done to help the energy to flow thru our bodies.  The needles are put at certain points depending on your ailment, and some needles are placed deeper than others, in order to restore your CHI. This method may last for 15 minutes or more.  If you are doing it for the first time, you might feel a tingle, numbness, or a bit sore.  If you feel any of these, it is a sign that the CHI has been accessed and flowing.

Acupuncture is used for the treatment of  Sinus, Headache, Cold, Arthritis, Menstrual Cramps, Tennis Elbow, Low Back Pain, Drug Addiction, and most important, Stroke.  Acupuncture is very safe, and must be done by a Certified Acupuncturist.  Needles used for this practice  must be sterile and thrown out after use on each patient.

I highly recommend the use of  an Acupuncturist for any of these ailments, instead of  doctors who immediately write you a prescription which comes with dangerous side effects. Most of the times one become addicted to these prescription drugs, which sometimes lead to tragedy.  Give Acupuncture a try if you have never done it before.
