“Use me, God. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.” Martin Luther King Jr.
This quote by Martin Luther King Jr. resonates with me. Have you been faced with challenges in your life and feel that you are alone in overcoming them? Have you cried out to Spirit to heal your wounds? Do you belong to a Spiritual community that you can lean on during the challenging times? I am grateful for my Unity of New York Spiritual community and its teachings; I am able to be an instrument of God. My family and friends can lean on me during the darkest moment in their lives. Maybe you have someone in your life who might be faced with a diagnosis from the doctor and they feel hopeless, maybe a financial struggle is going on in their life, maybe the loss of a loved one, and not knowing where to turn, they reach out to you. I can tell you I have been in those situations as the shoulder they can cry on. Well, as a child of God you can turn within and ask God to use you in any which way possible. He will show you how to be an instrument in someone’s life for a purpose greater than yourself.
“Living With Purpose And Allowing God To Use You” – Beverly Facey
Spirit has put me in this position lately and I have been able to go within and listen to that inner voice to show me the way for my family and friends during the challenging time in their lives. I am so grateful for the ministers who have helped me to grow in my Spirituality. They have led me on a path to live with purpose and have God use me. I have a deeper understanding of talking to Spirit. My daily meditation and quiet morning walk in the park with my dogs have also helped me to share the love of God within all of us. I know Spirit will never abandon us.
Turn within when you are faced with a challenge that is overwhelming and you feel that you can’t breathe. Close your eyes to the negative energies that are buzzing around your ears. Maybe they are telling you that you can’t accomplish what you have set out to do, maybe it’s the doctors telling you there is no cure, but if you turn within to that quiet place, he will answer all your prayers. Therefore, when they tell you, you can’t, you tell them yes you can. You know that the business you want will work out because you will apply yourself with God’s help and doing the necessary work will be accomplished. The doctor who tells you there is no cure for your disease, you can outlive the time they set for your life. God is your healer. Kicking fear from your life and prayers will help in your healing. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who will bring comfort and joy to your soul. Believe it and claim it.
So I say, challenge yourself. Talk to Spirit about your life that is challenging at the moment. The diagnosis you received has made you angry with God. You are asking him “why me?” If you look deep in your heart, God does not give you more than you can handle. As they say, “every setback is a set up for a comeback.” God is good all the time and he is merciful.
What purpose is God calling you to do right now? Trust and believe in him to use you for the greater good. Are you ready to answer the call? I was and my life is richer and I am blessed.
